Natural Shea Butter

The universal emollient and bioactive range from nature

From ancient times, Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii) has been known as an excellent source of natural emollients and moisturizers in cosmetics and skin care. Originating from West Africa, it is now used worldwide in skin care as well as in hair and personal care products from body lotions to body butters as well as in hair products like shampoos and conditioners

All the way from tree to customer

Not all Shea Butters are the same. Our Shea Butter comes from a sustainable source in West Africa where 110,000 Shea trees have been certified. Women from these villages traditionally collect these Shea kernels and then process them to butter, all this while improving the women living conditions

What makes Shea Butter special?

Shea butter is characterized by its high content of unsaponifiable lipids and anti-inflammatory components that in combination with the semisolid consistency, contribute to retain the elasticity of the skin leaving an excellent feeling and a long lasting moisturizing sensation

Cosmetic attributes of natural Shea Butter

It is an ingredient in traditional medicines against dermatitis, eczema etc...The high level of fatty acids (dominated by oleic, stearic and linoleic acids) and the unsaponifiable fraction contribute to moisturize the epidermis, other uses include:

· For dry or cracked skin and stretch marks it restores skin flexibility and elasticity

· For skin and scalp rashes works as an emollient and moisturizer

· For wrinkles and blemishes diminishes its appearance and causes the skin to become smoother and softer over time

· For skin itching it has excellent anti-irritant properties

· For small wounds it has excellent anti-inflammatory properties

· For tough or rough skin (on feet) protects and nourishes

· For damaged hair adds softness to hair

· For sunburns enhances the sun protection factor of organic sunscreens

How to Best Shop for Fragrance

By: EuropeanFragrance

Don’t give an arm or leg for a designer perfume, let them design and you buy the aroma to your desired concentration and forget the fancy bottle and the box

Most fragrance customers don’t realize the difference between the terms: Eau de Parfume (E.D.P.) and Eau de Toilette (E.D.T.) but their meaning is key to understand the best choice when it comes to enjoy your fragrance experience.

E.D.P. vs E.D.T.

These acronyms are used in perfumery to define the level of concentration in fragrances, although there is not a universally accepted definition is very simple to understand them

EDT on one hand translates into an average concentration of 15-20% of essence (or actual juices the rest are fillers) per unit prices typically range from $25 - $60 for this type of presentation, it’s by far the most popular presentation in the market because the price ranges.

EDP on the other hand translates into a higher concentration ranging from 20-35 % per unit of volume and is the next level on fragrance concentration, this means the fragrance will linger longer on the user and therefore the price will be for a higher end product however not all the designer fragrances will have them available.

Parfume is the ultimate concentration since this presentation has no fillers or reduced to a minimum and its potency is the highest you can get this would be the essence of the fragrance the price for this kind of rarity is in the hundreds of dollars when available and it must be weared with caution if you don’t want to be overwhelmed or offensive to people around you. The best way to use it is to apply a small dab in your body joints, pulse spots and around the neck or the ears. One drop goes a long way.

In summary the cost of a perfume is a directly affected by its concentration as well as the quality of its ingredients, however there are other factors that some times have a larger weight on its retail price than those above, what are those factors?

The cost of the fancy bottle, the cost of packaging, the glamour and marketing around the fragrance, commercials, models, etc.

Ideally we all would want to wear the juice of a good quality fragrance, not the bottle or the box without having to pay for it an arm and a leg.
